Electoral Annual Canvass 

The annual canvass of all households has started and registration forms will be posted on 1st September to all addresses to obtain the current details of eligible electors. Whether or not there are any changes, a registration form with the relevant details requires to be returned from every address. All changes require to be received on a signed form. No changes are accepted if returned by telephone, e.mail, text or by post. Forms should be returned as quickly as possible to prevent further enquiries being necessary. Details of the eligible electors currently registered are contained on the form and information on who is eligible to register and how to make returns. Applications to register to vote and change registration details can be made at any time during the year, however, changes notified now (before 25th November) will only become effective 1st December 2008. Changes notified throughout the year will become effective from the next date in the registration timetable (see table of dates in "Getting Added to Register of Electors" section - link below) Should an election be announced, electors would have a facility to register to vote provided that fully completed forms and any documentary evidence required was provided by 5pm, eleven (11) working days before polling day.

Anyone who has moved address , changed their name or who cannot remember returning a Voter Registration form last autumn should check whether they are registered or not The Register can be checked in the local library or you can contact our office with details of who should be registered and we can confirm who is registered . Forms are available to download. Contact ERO for both registering to vote and applying for a Postal Vote
