Our Organization

Who are we? 

The current Valuation Joint Board was appointed following the 2003 Local Government Elections. The most recent Board Meeting was the 8th December 2006.

The Board comprises 16 members who are appointed by the three councils with the Argyll & Bute Council and West Dunbartonshire Council each nominating 5 members and East Dunbartonshire Council 6 members. The Convenor and Vice Convenor of the Board are Donald McMillan (Argyll & Bute Counci) and Vaughn Moody (East Dunbartonshire Council.

The membership of the Board is as follows:

Argyll & Bute: 5 members

East Dunbartonshire: 6 members

West Dunbartonshire: 5 members

The quorum for Board meetings is 4 members with at least one from each council area.

Management Team 

The Assessor and Electoral Registration Officer is David C. Thomson BSc(Hons). He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and heads an organisation which has a staff of 66. He is supported by 2 Depute Assessors who are responsible for the day to day management of the professional, technical, admin and clerical staff based in Clydebank and Campbeltown:

William S. Mathieson, BSc, MRICS, is the Depute Assessor based in Clydebank. Alistair J Boyd, MRICS, is the Depute Assessor based in Campbeltown.
